The Nevada Rugby Union is to serve, support and assist Rugby in Nevada. The Nevada Rugby Union will HELP, (not run or take over), rugby club’s with regards to games, officials, leagues and scheduling, insurance, coaches, equipment, facilities, fund raising etc. The primary objective is growing rugby in Nevada. Once we are established we will have a representative side in all ages to represent the state of Nevada / Reno buy hosting and touring other states and representative sides. The Nevada Rugby Union (NRU) will take care of all player registrations and all other administrative functions that would hinder a club in developing and growing the sport.

NRU‘s aim is to become the leading rugby state in the USA, through dedicated and committed people focusing on the Unions goals.

The following clubs are located in Reno, the NOBS, Nevada Old Boy's who are the mature rugby players. They are the over 35’s and are lead by captain Fearless Fred who is 73 years old. The Wild Horses are the serious men's club who play to win.The Zephyrs Rugby Club is 2008 Division 3 national champions. The Wolf Pack rugby side are our collegiate club side and play in division two. We then have the Reno Nightmares who are the representatives for High School rugby in Reno and the Reno Rogues who are the elementary School players.

Our clubs biggest problem is the lack of more local sides. All the sides have to travel considerable distance to play opposition and this also become difficult in arranging pre season home games. The answer would be to grow rugby in Reno by encouraging more players to play after leaving college and to start more competitive sides so that Reno has its own competitive league.
Why we play Rugby...if you can't be a part of a TEAM, then this sport is not for you.If you can't put the TEAM before yourself, then Rugby is not for you.
Listen to a pre game talk and see why...
Help grow the sport of rugby by donating any amount to the Nevada Rugby Union. Donations will help the teams travel safely and more.
