Nevada Rugby Union Select Sides

The Nevada Rugby Union will select a side to represent Reno Rugby. The side will be made up of the best that has come through the ranks of Wolf Pack Rugby and Zephyrs rugby and any other side that gets formed in Reno. We will be looking for sponsors for this program and we aim to have 3 select sides, a senior mens side, U21 select side and four High Schools select side. This will help to develope and grow this sport in Reno and will  provide us with an opportunity to keep talented players in our area and help us to acheive the goal of becoming National Champions in all devisions of rugby in the future.

To kit each team out with Rugby Jerseys, shorts, socks and warm ups will cost the team $3300,00 If you are interested in sponsoring a team, we will place your company logo on the rugby jersey, shorts and warm ups and you will get a link to your company on the Nevada Rugby Union Website. The team will also be know as for example co. name Wolves NRU Select side. Our short term goal is to have a High School select side, Men's U21 side and a senior men's side.

High Schools Select Sides

THe NRU Select side will come from clubs in the Reno / Nevada area.

The U21 Select side will come mostly from the collegiate side

The High School select side will come from the 15 high schools around Reno

High School All-Americans

The High School All Americans has been recently formed in the Spring of 2009. This Age Grade National Team will be composed of the best High School enrolled players in the country. The purpose of this team will be to identify and develop the best high school aged players in the country as part of USA Rugby’s elite player pathway.  There are multiple pathways to selection to the High School All Americans listed below:  1: Competing at one of the six Regional All Star U19 and U17 Tournaments is the primary way toward selection to the U20 National team. These tournaments are competed in by all star sides from Local Area Unions and State Based Rugby Organizations. Each tournament will be attended by National Team Age Grade selectors.  2: Competing at the High School and U19 club National Championships. 3: Players are nominated by their individual coaches to U20 coaches and/or Age Grade Director.
